What is OST Childcare Training?
Are you looking for a job? Is English your second language? OST Childcare can help you find an entry-level childcare job by offering both English and job-specific workplace training.
Students receive language instruction combined with job-specific training in collaboration with Bow Valley College (BVC). Upon successful completion of ELCC1305: Developing Through Play course, students are eligible to use their transcript issued by BVC to apply for Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification through the Ministry of Children’s Services in Alberta. Students will have the opportunity to advance their education and upgrade their certification level by taking the Early Childhood Education and Development program delivered by BVC in partnership with TIES.
In addition to technical skills training, you will also receive a chance to meet employers for workshops, presentations, and mock interviews. Students also receive a FREE monthly bus pass while they are enrolled in class.
Is childcare available?
OST students receive up to $500/month per child to purchase childcare services from a licensed facility while they are enrolled in class.
