What is OST Childcare Training?

Are you looking for a job? Is English your second language? OST Childcare can help you find an entry-level childcare job by offering both English and job-specific workplace training.

Students receive language instruction combined with a job-specific training and receive the following certification upon completion of the program: Childcare Certificate Training – Child Development Assistant  ( Level 1) Certification Preparation, Alberta Government Curriculum, Certificate issued by Alberta Human Services.

In addition to technical skills training, you will also receive a chance to meet employers for workshops, presentations, and mock interviews. Students also receive a FREE monthly bus pass while they are enrolled in class.

Is childcare available?

OST students receive up to $500/month per child to purchase childcare services from a licensed facility while they are enrolled in class.

Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 4 or higher
