As the largest LINC provider in Calgary, we have a variety of class times and language-specific courses to help newcomers, permanent residents, refugees, and Canadian citizens. Please choose a program from the list below.


LINC Literacy
Four levels of language literacy training (Foundation L, CLB 1L, CLB2L, CLB3L, CLB4L) for immigrants with limited, interrupted or no formal education and who are non-literate or semi-literate in their native tongue. For permanent residents and refugees.

Literacy & Basic English

Specifically designed to help adult immigrants who have low to non-literate language skills acquire the basic essentials required for learning English. Available to permanent residents, refugees, and Canadian Citizens.

Computer Access for Literacy Learners

Provides essential computer skills to literacy-level newcomer and Canadian adults over 30 hours of training. Students learn basic computer operation, use of email and basic social media, internet search, and more during 2 hour-and-a-half sessions each week.

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) offers free English classes for CLB1-CLB4 and provides a practical training to improve skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

LINC Home Study (LHS)
This free English program is open to people who can’t attend regular LINC classes due to illness, disability, caretaking family members, or conflicting work schedule. Classes are offered online with weekly exercises and sessions over the phone and computer for CLB3-CLB8.

Adult ESL Class Online (AECO)
For CLB3-4 students who have received Canadian Citizenship and want to continue their classes online, this program provides online English classes with an emphasis on employment and the steps needed to land a job.

LINC Blended Program
For students who are unable to attend daily in-class instruction, but can still commit to 1 in-class instruction per week, we offer this free English program to “blend” the benefits of in-class and online instruction.

Drop-In ESL
Three different levels of classes (pre-basic, basic, and intermediate/advanced) designed for those who have to fit classes around family needs or work schedules and for those who are not eligible for LINC because of their status as Canadian Citizens or Work Visas.
