What Is Clerical Training?

The Clerical Training program is designed to improve business skills for administrative support in the modern office. It is for people who want to pursue a career as an administrator in an office environment and is open to all Canadians. This course covers computer terminology, keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook Email, career search techniques, resume writing, office procedures, business communications and internet use. This program runs for 17 weeks for a total of 51 hours, including an optional 80-hour volunteer job placement program in which students can gain Canadian work experience. Upon completion of the program, students will be familiar with the clerical skills necessary to find an entry-level administrative support position in Canada.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will obtain a certificate of achievement.

Am I Eligible?

  • Basic familiarity with computers (Windows operating system, Microsoft Word, and Internet)
  • Open to Permanent Residents, Citizens and Refugees, as well as individuals with Work Permits and Work Visas
  • Canadian Language Benchmarks Level 4 or higher in all skills
  • Pre-Requisite: Basic computer skills (Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word and Internet)

When Is This Class?

  • 51 hours of training in 17 weeks
  • New classes start every month. Register anytime.
  • Saturdays (Southeast Location)
    • 9:00 am – 12:00 noon or 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm
  • Mondays (Northeast Location)
    • 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Tuesdays (Southeast Location)
    • 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Thursdays (Northeast Location)
    • 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

How Much Does This Program Cost?

  • The cost for Clerical Training is  $150 + $5 Admin fee for Citizens, Permanent Residents (PR) and Refugees
  • The cost for Clerical Training is  $450 + $5 Admin fee for Work Permits / Work Visas
