New Identity: The Immigrant Education Society

We have a very special announcement to make.

A lot of great changes have been happening at our Society. We’ve come a long way from our humble roots in Forest Lawn, with services being offered at 3 different CIES locations. The scope of our services now stretches across the province through e-Learning, and our newly formed Research department collaborates with partners across the country. This time of growth presents an opportunity to make a memorable change.

With the assistance of William Joseph Communications and ongoing guidance from the CIES Board, we have made the decision to update our brand identity, including a new logo, name, and a renewed commitment to empowering newcomers and Canadians. We believe that our new look better reflects who we have become over the last 30+ years, and will represent us for many years to come.

Please rest assured: who we are hasn’t changed. Our Vision, Mission and Values will remain the same through the rebranding. Going forward, we will continue to serve and build our community by offering innovative language education, customized employment training and placement, and integration services to newcomers and Canadians based on best practices.

It with great pleasure that we announce our new name, The Immigrant Education Society, affectionately referred to as TIES for short.

The word “Calgary” has been dropped from our name to better reflect the changing scope of our services. We reworked the maple leaf icon into something more distinct, that embodies Canada but with a twist. The lines that make up the icon are interwoven and overlapping, to represent that TIES helps people mesh with Canadian society, and is a resource to help them with many aspects of their lives.

Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for further updates as we launch the new brand. We expect to be fully transitioned this summer. We look forward to working alongside you to build TIES in our community!
