Friends of Haiti Canada Once Again Donates 50 Computers for TIES’ Newcomers!

Dr. Suman Khanal, Dir. Employment & Settlement, TIES and Dave Botterill, Friends of Haiti -Computer Donation 2019

The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) is pleased to announce that our allies at Friends of Haiti Canada have donated (yet again) an additional 50 laptops and computer accessories to our organization to better support newcomer education and empowerment. The previous donation was of 51 computers.

This second gift of technology comes at an important time, as more immigrant professionals and families arriving in Canada require digital literacy skills to participate in social activities and the local economy.

“These devices will be used for the benefit of newcomers who are struggling to find a meaningful place in Canadian society” – Suman Khanal, Director of Employment and Settlement Programs.
The delivery of the donations was conducted by Dave Botterill, a previous director for Inn From The Cold (Calgary) and current Coordinator for Friends of Haiti Canada.

On behalf of the staff and students at TIES, we thank Dave and Friends of Haiti Canada once again, for their generous support and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
