UPDATE: August 25, 2021
The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) is regretful to announce that our 2021 TIES2U Multicultural Festival planned for Friday, September 17th, will be postponed this year to a later date. Recognizing the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the Calgary area, 2,422 active cases as of August 24th, it is prudent that we do not hold a large gathering at this time which may contribute to additional spread of the virus. TIES will also postpone the official ribbon cutting ceremony of our new facility in Westwinds to a date that is better suited to hold such an event.
One of the activities that was planned was to have “19 TO ZERO” provide a mobile clinic for COVID-19 vaccinations on September 17th. This mobile vaccination effort will still be held from 9:00 am to 12 noon but will be moved to the Whitehorn TIES facility at 3820 – 32nd Street NE Calgary. “19 TO ZERO” is a joint effort between community groups, Alberta Health, and the Industry for Vaccination, to help further extend Alberta’s successful vaccination campaign. The mobile vaccine clinic will offer Pfizer or Moderna first or second doses. If you, or someone you know, has not been vaccinated please join us on September 17th at the TIES Whitehorn location.
We thank all our wonderful sponsors who have stepped forward to support our TIES2U Festival and all those individuals who have already registered to attend. We look forward to working with our business partners and hosting our clients and the larger multicultural community for a special TIES2U Winter themed event in November or December.
Thank you, everyone, for your continued support of TIES. Watch for a future announcement about TIES2U festivities, and a new date for the event later in the year.
