Many newcomer professionals are unable to find work in Canada because their qualifications and skills are not recognized.

The Fair Registration Practices Act is a bill proposed by the Government of Alberta to help speed up the process of foreign qualification recognition. If this legislation is passed, it would mean fewer barriers for newcomer professionals looking for work.

Next week, Jason Copping, Minister of Labour and Immigration, and Jason Luan, Associate Minister of Mental Health & Addictions, are hosting a roundtable discussion. This event is co-organized by TIES, and all are invited to attend.
