World Refugee Day @ MRU

  • June 20, 2018 - 18:00
  • Lincoln Park Room @ Mount Royal University - 4825 Mount Royal Gate SW Calgary, AB T3E 6K6

World Refugee Day is June 20

The UN defines a refugee as one who has fled their country due to “a well-founded fear of persecution“. This persecution may be because of their identity, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. World Refugee Day is an international day of solidarity to recognize the strength and courage of refugees all over the world.

On June 20, consider attending the International World Refugee Day event being hosted in the Lincoln Park Room on the Mount Royal University campus. This is an opportunity to recognize the determination of Calgary refugees and hear their stories.

The event is free to attend and only requires registration. It will include music, dance, speakers, visual presentations, as well as refreshments.
